Sending manual messages to tenants
The capabilities provided on the Send Messages page allows users to quickly create and send messages to tenants on an as needed basis.
Things to know
Email message templates - A message template must be specified when the email delivery channel is employed. For more information, see Email message templates.
Message variables - Users who create or edit message content have access to a list of special message variables that can be inserted as temporary placeholders. When individual messages are generated, the variables are automatically replaced with values that are specific to the facility and the message recipient. For more information, see Message variables.
To send a manual message:
1. In the XpressCollect navigation panel, select Send Messages.
A list of tenants at the selected facility is displayed. If you are authorized to access messaging capabilities for more than one facility, you can change the facility selection or choose more facilities in the Selected Facilities list, as needed.
You can also use the following methods help identify tenants more quickly:
Click in the heading cell for any or the table columns to sort on that column.
Use the Search function to locate specific tenants by name, unit, phone number or email address.
2. To select message recipients, click in the check box provided at the beginning of each tenant row.
3. To create the message, enter content in the text boxes provided for text and email messages as needed. If you are sending an email message, you must also select an email template that is appropriate for your message.
4. When you are ready, click the Send button.
